Instead of committing to finding how to go for your goals you got distracted with other things.
You bought books, maybe some DIY courses probably signed up for a bunch of freebies but never could figure out how to really apply the strategies because all of those lower cost or free things, though sometimes valuable are slow motion drivers rather than true investments that help you grow a lot quicker.
But getting to a place of clarity instead of confusion is actually not very hard.
But continuing to waste time is not serving you in going for what you really want.
With over 20 years in public and private education I have helped thousands of people connect to positive and confident mindsets, strategically move closer to their truest desires, enjoy what they are learning and to feel supported in their attempts to grow.
My Journey
I was a theater person having started my stage and tv career at the age of 5. Over 100 stage productions before the age of 17! Performing arts high school, summer Shakespeare programs, governors school for the arts. I’m a person who is VERY familiar with showbiz and also with rejections. Thousands of auditions, beauty pageants, dance recitals and competitions, voice coaches, commercial coaches I was really, really in it.
2005-2012 I lived in NYC. I attended Marymount Manhattan College with a major in theater. While in school I also worked as an executive assistant to a corporate vice president and then also at a small boutique business for young childrens classes and events a post I held for 6 years. It was there in NYC that I learned a lot of my foundation in public relations and marketing.
I discovered while in NYC a desire to do social good with my passions and my strong voice for advocacy. I began creating programs using theater, art and recreation as therapy for non profits and government affiliated health organizations. This became full time grant writing and also interning at theater companies that did documentary style dramas and theater for social change.
This is me attending the UN Global Compassion Ball in 2011 and I would later would travel abroad with humanitarians and non profit executives I connected with there. It was while traveling that I became aware of various plants and botanicals that began to intrigue me. I decided to relocate somewhere south to have space to garden and to learn gardening for health benefits.
2016 after having settled in for good in Richmond, Virginia I founded an online network for herbalists, farmers and gardeners to better connect locals to healthy food and to natural health alternatives. I also started to make and sell herbal skincare to sell at local farmers markets taking on the brand name Laura’s Botanicals. As of 2022 we still make small batch botanical goods.
Starting in 2017 I began teaching workshops, mentorships and classes in herbalism, natural health education and gardening. I also began a clinical herbalism practice offering 1:1 health consultations.
I set up awesome relationships with partners who carry and sell my products. I loved attending health events but I began thinking about how to also start building out online membership sites, courses and digital products.
In 2020 I invested in my first coach who I learned marketing and sales systems from for online booking and product fulfillment. I also advanced into new skillsets including developing and running my own funnels and ad campaigns. Booking my first $2000 client was a really big moment for me. The sale came in as I was going to sleep and I started to cheer out in happiness.
It’s 2022 and I’m being featured as a speaker on podcasts, online education platforms and on industry summits. I am a member of several professional networks and I run my own webshow. I am continously refining my sales process and building referrals and email lists.
The Bio
Laura Baum, founder of Laura's Botanicals, a small batch handmade herbal skincare brand and coaching business has offered services to businesses since 2017.
Laura has coached independent health business owners, practitioners, coaches, service based providers and healers who are ready to implement proven marketing processes for growth in sales and impact and to develop online marketing and program offers.
Laura has also run programs specific for less experienced health business startups who need complete business foundation work.
Laura has taught over 1,000 hours in education for the public since 2016 and has been featured on over a dozen keynote talks and podcasts on statewide, national and international levels and is very comfortable with showing up to talk about her mission and values. This key element is what makes her attractive to clients who need help coming out of their shell, comfort zone and to use their voice to talk about their work.
Laura has been hired to do branding projects for established companies and is very familiar and experienced with the small batch product development process and also how promote and sell those products for a launch. Everything from branding, public relations and marketing Laura has had a hand in one of those roles
